The Bernard and Dolores Fink Sportsmanship Award and Scholarship
Award
- Two student-athletes will each receive an award and a one-year scholarship of $1,500.
- Scholarship awards will name the awardee and their intended college/university

Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be graduating seniors of Convent of the Visitation School who are enrolling as full-time students in an accredited two- or four-year post-secondary educational program
- Candidates must have received a Varsity Letter or a Participation Certificate from a fully recognized Visitation School athletic team during their senior year.
Consideration Process
Each candidate must fill out and submit the official “Candidate Request for Consideration” form with their essay attached. The essay should describe, with real life examples whenever possible, the lessons that the candidate learned specifically through their participation in athletics at Visitation. The essay should be a minimum of one page and a maximum of three pages. The official form and essay must be submitted to the Office of the Head of School by April 30th.
Selection Process
A selection committee composed of past parents and school administratorswill review all submissions. The committee will evaluate each entry using mostly subjective criteria. Consideration will be given to the candidate’s GPA, their participation and accomplishments within athletics and how well their essay describes the lessons they have learned. Special consideration will be given to those candidates showing progressive improvement. The committee will make their selections by the Monday prior to Memorial Day weekend.
If a selection committee member has a daughter who is eligible, that member shall excuse themselves from the selection committee for that year. If necessary, the chairperson shall appoint a temporary selection committee member for that year.
Application Deadline
The official form and essay must be submitted to the Office of the Head of School by April 30th.
