| HEALTH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
The Visitation motto, "Not for School, but for Life", reflects
Visitation's commitment to a complete education and student development
in all areas - academic, spiritual, social, and emotional. Students
develop well-rounded intellectual competence, self-esteem, leadership
skills, and social awareness - skills needed not for school but for
life.
The goal of the health education department is to support the
mission of the school in our daily classroom teachings and interactions
with the students. The main objective is to engage students, explore
concepts in-depth, analyze and solve real-life problems, and work on
tasks to develop and enhance their conceptual understanding as so they
become critical thinkers about their health and make healthy lifelong
decisions.
As our motto states,"Non-Scolae, Sed Vitae. Not for
School, but for Life”, we would like our students to learn that health
education is a part of their daily life and the care of their body will
lead them into further enjoyment in adulthood and beyond. The health
curriculum encompasses the physical, mental, emotional and social
health and aims to give the students knowledge, skills and motivation
needed to enhance their health, prevent diseases, and reduce
health-related risky behaviors. The health of young people, and the
adults they will become, is significantly linked to the health-related
behaviors they choose to adopt.
