Extended Day
Extended Day is Visitation’s school-age childcare program for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6.  The program is open from 2:40pm-6pm on school days and 7am-6pm on many non-school days (see Visitation School calendar for specific dates).

In Extended Day, children broaden their learning experience by partaking in many educational and recreational activities.  Each day children are given time to play outside, have a healthy snack, and complete homework assignments in a quiet setting.   In addition, children have the opportunity to choose between a large motor activity (relay race, kickball, jog around the campus, etc.) OR a more relaxed activity (art, science, drama, music, etc.).  We also provide plenty of time for spontaneous free play in the classroom.

On Extended Day “long days” when school is not in session, many exciting theme-based projects and activities are planned for our students.  We utilize the entire school campus, and sometimes we even go on field trips.  Some fun activities from past non-school long days include: bowling, a corn maze, a pizza party, an Easter egg hunt, a wild animal visit, a pajama party, karaoke, cooking projects and much more!

NEW THIS YEAR
Children from any school are invited to participate in Visitation’s Extended Day program on non-school long days!

Montessori Extended Day
Montessori Extended Day is Visitation’s childcare program for children enrolled in Montessori Preschool at Visitation.  Families may choose to register for up to 2 (of 3) sessions that we offer throughout the day OR they may also choose to participate in the hourly childcare option (new this year).

In addition to continuing our commitment to safe and enjoyable childcare, this year at Montessori Extended Day we are also focusing on encouraging the development of the whole child by exposing her/him to a variety of stimulating play experiences both in and out of the classroom.
  • Hourly childcare option available
  • Hot school lunch served
  • Practice with letter & number-recognition
  • Emphasis on development of fine motor skills (e.g. writing, cutting) and gross motor skills (e.g. jumping, climbing)
  • Great teacher-child ratios
  • Friendly staff with backgrounds in Child Development and Elementary Education
Join us as we play and learn throughout the 2009-2010 school-year!  For more information or to register for our Extended Day programs, contact Julia Dale at 651-683-1751 or via email
