Environmental Science Action Projects:
Overview: Students in the Environmental Science Class were challenged to research an environmental topic and make a commitment to action. The projects were very open ended and varied greatly. To conduct the action, students made personal changes in their lifestyle, did a service project, conducted research, or created a lesson to be taught in a lower school class, etc. Then students shared the research and action with an audience. Audiences could include the school community, neighborhood, government officials, etc. Students chose a vehicle to share their information, such as a speech, podcast, video, brochure, powerpoint, lesson plan, log of the activities, talking points, letters, etc. Research and experiences from the action portion of the project were incorporated into this component.
