Convent of the Visitation Library

Convent  of the Visitation School has two libraries. The Lower School Library  serves students from preschool through grade five. It also provides  materials for use in the child care programs. The Middle School/Upper School  Library provides service and materials for students from grades six to twelve.  The MS/US Library also has a number of computer workstations and laptop  computers available for research and  homework.

The libraries  together have more than 15,000 books and videos, more than 40 magazine  subscriptions, several online encyclopedias, and a magazine database which  provides the full text of nearly 12,000 total publications and indexing and  abstracting for more than 16,000. There is also a collection of materials for  teachers.

Materials are  purchased both for curriculum support and for fun! Standard reviewing  resources, “best books” lists, and student and teacher suggestions are used to select  them.

Students from  Montessori to grade four have regular library class visits, and may come on  their own as well. Older students come with their classes as needed, and may  come on their own any time. The Lower School Library is open every school day  8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The MS/US Library is open Monday through Thursday from  7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00  p.m.

Parents and other  family members are always welcome.
