At the
sixth annual Outdoor Hockey Classic, Visitation/SPA (St. Paul United) defeated
the Minneapolis Novas, 4-1, at Sibley Park in Minneapolis.
Prior to
face-off, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak issued a Proclamation noting the
significance and uniqueness of the event. The Mayor declared January 16, 2010,
as "Minneapolis Novas" day, in honor of the girls’ high school hockey
program in Minneapolis.
The teams
traded goals in the first two periods, before United pulled away with three
third period goals. United forward Maggie B. scored two goals and assisted on
another, while linemate Breanna H. added three assists.
Visitation/SPA and the
Novas have faced each other in five of the six Outdoor Hockey Classics -- with January 16th's win, Visitation/SPA now leads the series, 3-2.
Congratulations
Blazers!
