Student in
grades six through eight recently took part in Fitnessgram during their
physical education classes.
Fitnessgram is a comprehensive fitness assessment
battery. It includes a variety of health-related physical fitness tests
designed to assess cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, muscular endurance,
flexibility, and body composition.
The use of health-related criteria helps to
minimize comparisons between children's skill levels and, instead, emphasizes personal fitness for
health, rather than goals based on performance.
This program endorses a long-term
view of physical education in which the promotion of lifelong habit of
physical activity is the primary goal.
Please take time to review your child’s
report with him/her.
