The Alumnae Association invites all parents, students and other members of the Visitation community to be part of a powerful tradition, the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Each month, we gather at 6:30 p.m. with the Sisters in their parlor to knit, pray and enjoy wonderful company. Although knitters are welcome to work on any project they like, we are in particular need of prayer shawls. (We have a few different patterns.)
The shawls are knit for members of the Visitation family who are coping with an illness or struggling through a difficult time; they really make a difference in people’s lives. One recipient had this to say: "The prayer shawl you sent to me could not have come at a better time. I was at an all time low, physically and psychologically, from chemo and radiation treatment when it arrived in the mail. The shawl is cozy and comforting and I feel the support and encouragement of every stitch!"
