Chemical Health Week: February 8-12, 2010

Chemical Health Week will be held February 8-12.  During Chemical Health Week, CHOOSE members participate in providing Chemical Health Awareness to the school; there are many different activities that will be led by CHOOSE members each day.

CHOOSE is the Upper School student group which is made up of students who pledge to live by the group’s mission to “promote and model a chemically free lifestyle for their peers and younger students at Visitation.”

One way CHOOSE reaches out to students is by wearing handmade crosses, representing those who have been killed by a drunk driver.

CHOOSE members also go into Middle School and Ninth grade classrooms to share and discuss the importance of making good choices.

Other activities throughout the week include a fundraiser, a door decorating contest, morning prayer, and facts given out at lunch.

Also this year, during the convocation on February 11, a young woman will share her own personal experiences related to Chemical Health
.

The purpose of Chemical Health Week is to share education and information with students on all issues related to Chemical Health (such as drinking and driving or the effects of smoking/drug/alcohol use) in an effort to promote the importance of making good choices in one’s life.
