Robettes Open House: February 13 in St. Paul

On Saturday, February 13, from 2-4 p.m., the Robettes will be hosting an open house at their downtown St. Paul build location to show their progress and also discuss the details of our program.  All are welcome to attend! The open house will take place at the Allen Building: 411 Broadway Street, St. Paul, MN 55101.  Contact Ms. Knatterud with questions.

The New Year has started out busy for the Robettes, Visitation’s Upper School Robotics Team.

The F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition kickoff was held at the U of M on January 9, 2010. At the kickoff, the challenge of the year was released. Within the next six weeks, the Robettes will be designing, engineering and building a robot to face the challenge, which is an assigned task that the robot is specifically built to be able to perform.

Two days after the kickoff at the U of M, the Robettes hosted a fundraiser at Granite City in Eagan. Thank you to all who came out to support them and help make the fundraiser successful!

Members of the robotics team also spoke at Friendly Hills Middle School, in Mendota Heights.  The team demonstrated a robot in honor of the fifth graders’ “Invention Convention.”  Both the Robettes and the fifth graders enjoyed discussing the design process and driving the robot.
