The
Junior Class Retreat is scheduled for March 11-12. The retreat will be held at Camp
Courage in Maple Lake
– about an hour west of the cities.
The retreat will be led by Kathleen Daniewicz (Campus
Minister), Rene Gavic (Dean of Students) and Anne Gimpl (Upper School
Counselor), with participation by other faculty members.
We believe
that all-class retreats are an integral part of the
Visitation experience, helping our students to grow spiritually,
socially and
emotionally. For this reason, attendance at class retreats is required
(see
“Retreat Policy” on page 48 of the online Student-Parent Handbook).
This class retreat is an overnight; the extended amount of time together
allows the class the opportunity to delve into a variety of topics, to
reflect on the meaning of the Visitation experience, to work together as a
class, and to socialize and have fun together.
Juniors are
excused from all practices on March 13, but should remind their coaches or
directors as soon as possible that they will be gone.
The fee
for this retreat has been billed by the Business Office. Students will receive permission slips and a suggested packing list the
week of retreat. We ask
that the
students bring pop, munchies and desserts to share in order to keep the
cost
down.
The bus
will leave
Visitation at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 11 and return around 3:30 p.m. on
Friday, March 12.
