COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Timeline for Course Registration for the 2008-2009 School Year

February 19: Course Description Booklet online and available in Registrar’s Office.  To read the course descriptions while visiting department web pages click on different departments on the left

March 6, 7: Homeroom Advisors discuss course registration with students in advisory. Students receive worksheets which they take home for parent signatures and to teachers, department heads or upper school director as needed for their signatures.

March 7-March 18th: Homeroom Advisors and Academic Advisor assist students in completing registration forms. The following must be verified:
  1. Required courses indicated on form; five credits.
  2. Signatures of student and parent.
  3. Signature of the appropriate teacher or department chair for AP or Honors courses.
  4. For juniors, a college counselor signature.
  5. Signature of upper school director for STA course selections and registration for more than three A.P. courses. (Director will confer with student’s teachers before approving four AP courses.)
  6. Information filled out on the back
March 18: Students give worksheets with signatures to homeroom advisors

April 2: During class meeting time:
With the assistance of homeroom advisor, academic advisor, director and registrar, students in 11th grade register online during extended advisory at school in the computer lab, library, and publications room. At the end of registration, worksheets are collected by advisors and returned to director.

April 3: During 20 minute homeroom/break:
With the assistance of homeroom advisor, academic advisor, director and registrar, students in 10th grade register online at school during the class meeting time in the computer lab, library, and publications room. At the end of registration, worksheets are collected by advisors and returned to director.

April 4: During 20 minute homeroom/break:
With the assistance of homeroom advisor, academic advisor, director and registrar, students in 9th grade register online at school during the class meeting time in the computer lab, library, and publications room. At the end of registration, worksheets are collected by advisors and returned to director.
