Long-Term Substitute: Social Studies
Visitation School is seeking an Upper School Social Studies Long-Term Substitute. The person in this role will teach one section of US History, two sections of World History, and two sections of AP European History from November 1, 2022 until March 10, 2023. The position is 100% FTE, and the student-contact day for this position runs from 7:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
Visitation is an independent Catholic day school serving a coed Lower School (Montessori preschool through grade 5), an all-girls Middle School (grades 6-8), and an all-girls Upper School (grades 9-12); we are located in Mendota Heights, MN.
The ideal candidate for the Upper School Social Studies Long-Term Substitute role:
Is a lifelong learner who is passionate about the educational experiences of adolescent girls.
Has demonstrated success as a Social Studies educator with Upper School students.
Possesses a strong grasp of current instructional practices, curricular trends, and pedagogy within social science education.
Enjoys and has demonstrated success working with students, families and colleagues in an independent school.
Has a strong desire to contribute actively to a community where students are known, loved, and challenged, and excited to embrace the Visitation mission.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and previous experience in a K-12 school. Experience in an independent school, an advanced degree, and experience with AP curriculum are preferred.
