Visitation Moments

Welcome to Visitation Moments, Visitation School's Salesian Blog. These reflections pair the writer's insights about the spiritual teachings of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal with how they inform daily lives.

We hope these reflections, written by members of the Visitation community, illustrate how Salesian Spirituality thrives and that these examples provide inspiration as you walk on your journey to Live Jesus each day.

Visitation Moments: A Salesian Blog

As we step into this moment of recreation and re-creation when we celebrate the New Year and the Marian Solemnity, let us ask ourselves what will we bring with us into the new year? What will we leave behind in the old? Will we repeat with Mary her courageous fiat? Will we see in our very being the traces of God and in God the traces of ourselves?

Advent Advice from Saint Jane de Chantal

Hoping for a deeper and more meaningful Advent, Kristin Koch was drawn to St. Jane de Chantal's words, “Hold your eyes on God and leave the doing to Him. That is all the doing you have to worry about.”

Vows of Hope: A Laywoman’s Reflection on the Visitation Renewal

Each November, Visitation Sisters around the world renew their vows. The same words first offered decades ago — poverty, chastity, obedience — are spoken once more on the Feast of the Presentation of Mary. There is no spotlight, no fanfare. Just small communities of contemplative women, linked in quiet communion, renewing a promise to live for Love alone.
