Vis/STA Aquatics Center Project
Visitation School is proud to announce that a significant initiative is underway to create a new shared aquatic center on the Saint Thomas Academy Campus.
The current pool was built in the 1960s with a 50-year life expectancy, featuring five lanes and supporting fewer than 30 swimmers. Today, that same pool supports over 130 Vis and STA student-athletes. We know we can do better for our students for two teams that consistently compete at a very high level and boast over 25 combined State titles. Please enjoy watching the promotional video below.
Chip Michel (STA '67), who is spearheading the project, announced a $3 million matching gift commitment on behalf of his family at a donor event on January 17, 2023. Inclusive of the donor's $3 million match, the project funding stands at just over $9.2 million towards the $10 million goal. Visitation and Saint Thomas Academy have set a goal of securing the final $800,000 by May 31, 2023.
The joint Vis/STA committee leading the fundraising campaign seeks your help. The scale, scope, and amenities of the facility, as well as the construction timeline, will be dictated by our donor community's willingness to invest. The quicker we raise the $3 million match, the sooner this aquatic center becomes a reality.
The time is now.
