Director's Notes

Dear Middle School Families,

I want to express my sincere gratitude to each of you as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday. One of my favorite traditions at Vis is when the girls take time to write notes of thanks to their friends, teachers, and family members. As I shared at Assembly, it is important for us to share our gratitude aloud with one another.  Here is a sampling of what students are sharing:

  • I am grateful for all of the Vis girls, especially the ones in my grade. They have made me feel so welcome this year, and I feel like I’m really fitting into the community–and it’s only been a couple of months! I am also very thankful for my family. They’ve helped me through a lot of tough times, and they’ve always been there to support me.

  • I’m grateful for all the opportunities we get at Vis like theater [and] sports!

  • I am grateful for all of the friends that I have made throughout at Visitation. They are my closest friends, and I look forward to making more this year and throughout high school.

  • I am thankful for all of the good friends I have made through school. I am also thankful for the great education and the teachers.

  • I am thankful for my mom and sister.

  • I’m thankful for school because I have time to connect with my friends!

  • I am most grateful for the opportunities and preparedness Visitation offers. I know that the education I’m receiving is setting me up to succeed academically but also building my character into a Salesian and beneficial member of society.

It is my hope that your daughters will have time to rest and recharge during the holiday weekend. There is no homework assigned throughout the break so that the girls can spend these days with family and friends.

Please know that I speak for the entire faculty and staff when I express my thanks for trusting your daughters to our care. We are honored to work with you.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Anna Bachman Barter, PhD
