2025-26 Standard Uniform Shoe Information

A message from Mrs. Ronna Baca, Upper School Dean of Student Life:

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are excited to share an important update regarding our new standard(daily) uniform shoe policy, which will go into effect this fall.

At Visitation, we believe that a unified dress code promotes school spirit, builds a strong sense of community, and helps minimize distractions so students can focus on learning. After careful consideration, we are updating our shoe policy to allow for more flexible footwear options—while continuing to reflect the pride and distinctive identity of our school.

What’s New?

Beginning fall 2025, Middle and Upper School students may wear:

  • Low-top, solid white shoes or athletic shoes that are clean, in good condition, and have heels no higher than one inch. Shoes must be entirely white, including the sole. Branding and logos should also be as close to white as possible. Please note: clear portions on soles are not permitted, as clear is not considered white.
    • See slideshow below.
  • Athletic shoes are still required for Physical Education classes.
  • Important note: The 2025–2026 school year will be the final year that brown shoes may be worn as part of the standard (daily) uniform. Brown shoes will still be required for formal uniform.

Please note that the following footwear is not allowed: sandals, platform shoes, boots, moccasins, slippers, backless shoes, clogs, or any shoe worn as a slide or mule. Shoes must be worn securely with the heel inside the shoe.

Clarifying Expectations

To ensure a smooth transition and consistency for all students, we would like to clarify a few important uniform expectations:

  • All students must arrive in full uniform each day, unless otherwise communicated by the school. If for some reason you do not have what you need for the first week of school, let us know how we can help.

  • Uniform items must follow school-approved guidelines—including correct colors, proper fit and no substitutions.

  • As you prepare for the new school year, please take a moment to check skirt length to ensure that your daughter’s skirt remains within uniform standards: neatly hemmed and no more than 2 inches above the knee. Navy leggings(except on formal uniform days) or white tights may be worn with the uniform skirt. Fitted navy or black shorts must be worn under the uniform skirt if leggings or tights are not worn.

A full and detailed uniform guide is available on the website and in the Student Handbook beginning on page 51. If you need help sourcing uniform items, please contact Anne Eldredge, The Peddler School Store Coordinator, for assistance.

Thank you for your continued support in helping make this a smooth and positive transition for our community.
