A Year-End Message From Head of School Rene Gavic

A message from Head of School Rene Gavic

It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us. These final days of school are filled with end-of-the-year ceremonies and celebrations of another exceptional school year. I am filled with gratitude for our students, faculty, staff, parents, Trustees, volunteers and our entire Visitation community. It truly was a wonderful year.

Throughout this year we focused on the virtue of Holy Hope and the many ways we experience God’s hope for all of us. We have witnessed the joy and appreciation our students and teachers have for each other and the supportive relationships that have been built, these heart-to-heart connections are core to the Visitation experience. Whether it was in a challenging science or math lab, engaging in-class discussion, participating in service projects and prayer buddies, or in our choir and orchestra concerts, theater and athletic events, we found joy and hope in each other and in our learning. We have a deeper appreciation for these moments than ever before.

Another highlight of our school year is the completion of our Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan reflects the values of the Visitation Sisters while calling for bold and forward-thinking to ensure that Visitation School is well-positioned to prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. We are grateful to be guided by this plan and excited to share its priorities with you later this summer.

This week we celebrate fifth grade and eighth grade graduations. We know our fifth and eighth graders are prepared to move on to the next level of their academic careers. On Sunday, we will celebrate the Class of 2022 at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. Visitation graduates are poised and inspired to be thoughtful and impactful leaders who will make a positive difference in our world.

For Tuesday’s Feast of the Visitation prayer service, we gathered photos that represented the school year and our community living the true sense of the Visitation. I invite you to enjoy the slideshow and see the joy and hope that permeates our community.

Thank you for your partnership. I hope you all have a chance to enjoy the slower pace of summer days.

Live + Jesus,

Rene Gavic
