Visitation Swim & Dive Adapts as New Michel Aquatic Center Takes Shape

With the construction of the Michel Aquatic Center underway, Visitation Swim & Dive is adapting to the changes this season. The Blazers have an impressive record, with 10 consecutive state championships and 14 overall. As they prepare for the upcoming season, we caught up with Head Coach Nate Linscheid. The new eight-lane Michel Aquatic Center is scheduled to open in fall 2025.

How is the team adapting to not having a home pool?

Coach Nate: So far we've been doing well. We actually have more room at Two Rivers and Rosemount Middle School than we had at the old pool. We'll see how it goes once school starts and we start having late (after dinner) practices.

Where are practices being held?

Coach Nate: We were at Two Rivers High School for the two weeks prior to school starting and now we are at Rosemount Middle School for the rest of the year with Saturdays at Two Rivers. Meets will continue to be at St. Kates as they've been for the past 10 years.

What are you looking forward to for this upcoming season?

Coach Nate: We have a good group of swimmers/divers coming back with a mix of new swimmers. It's exciting to see the new mix blend into a cohesive team.

Any challenges?

Coach Nate: Mainly learning what the new student-athletes are going to be the most successful at and of course the odd practice times.

Do you think the streak will continue?!

Coach Nate: We have a good team, and I hope that we can all be at our best when we need to be. You don't always know what is going on with other teams, but we should be in the mix.

Go Blazers!
