A message from Dr. Anna Barter, Director of Upper School:
Congratulations to Mairin O'Shaughnessy who has been named a National Merit Semifinalist, putting her in the top 16,000 of those entered nationally, and qualifying her to move on in the competition. As a Semifinalist, Mairin represents the highest scoring entrants in the state and less than 1% of each state's high school seniors. Finalists will be named in February.
Ava Kirr, Anna Farley, Ella Passe and Mamie O'Leary have all been named as Commended Students, putting them in the top 50,000 of the entrants.
Juniors entered the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $30 million that will be offered next spring.
Congratulations to our semifinalist and commended students!
