A message from Dr. Anna Barter, Director of Upper School:
Maggie Farley has been named a semifinalist, putting her in the top 16,000 of those entered nationally, and qualifying her to move on in the competition. As a semifinalist, Maggie represents the highest-scoring entrants in the state and less than 1% of each state's high school seniors. Finalists will be named in February.
Solveig Benz-Narveson, Avery Bowser and Nadia Goldman have all been named as Commended Students, putting them in the top 50,000 of the entrants.
Juniors entered the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $30 million that will be offered next spring.
Congratulations to our semifinalist and commended students!
