A message from Kathleen Daniewicz, Director of Campus Ministry:
A catastrophic 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, leaving behind immense devastation. The death toll is over 3,500 and rising, and countless families are now without food, clean water, medical care, and shelter. Many have lost everything; they need urgent protection and support.
In response to the tremendous need brought about by this disaster, we will be dedicating Friday’s all-school out-of-uniform collection to support the people of Myanmar. All money collected will be donated to Caritas Internationalis, a helping hand of the Catholic Church.
Inspired by Catholic faith, Caritas Internationalis reaches out to the poor, vulnerable, and excluded, regardless of race or religion, to build a world based on justice and fraternal love. Caritas teams have been on the ground in Myanmar since day one, mobilising resources to ensure immediate and sustained humanitarian relief reaches those most in need, bringing urgent relief - food, clean water, medical assistance, and shelter - to families struggling to survive.
Your generosity can make a life-saving difference. Thank you in advance for helping our Visitation community reach out to those in desperate need.
