Lower School Director's Notes

A message from Director of Lower School, Jessica Hallin:

Happy Spring Lower School Families,

Once again, we have had busy and exciting days here in the Lower School. We wrapped up last week with wonderful classroom pop In events, time with our Salesian Leaders and overall enjoyed the sunshine and extra time outside. First graders also ended last week their special Animal Wax Museum which is always a great success. The students collaborated with their art teacher to create truly amazing and informative works. Ballet students hosted a Ballet Showcase last Friday. It was a lovely display of their dedication, grace and work.

On Thursday, second graders, working with Mrs. Bateson and Campus Ministry are preparing for a mass celebrating our First Communicants. We cannot wait for this special celebration with loved ones.

Lower School students are also eagerly preparing for our Spring Showcase on Thursday, May 18. Students need to arrive by 4:40 p.m. for warm-ups. They should be in formal uniform bottoms, with a Visitation spirit wear top. While students warm up, families are welcome to enjoy our Art Showcase. The art showcase and refreshments will also be available after the concert. We look forward to a joyous event!

Also at the Art Showcase, the fifth graders have been working on an art project that they would like to share with you. They made custom art tote bags by brainstorming, drawing, carving and printing. These tote bag projects align with the global goals to spread awareness. They are selling their tote bags at the Spring Showcase on Thursday. The suggested donation is $20, but you can donate more or less. They will accept cash, Venmo, and checks. The money from the tote bags will be going to charities researched and selected by the fifth graders.

Friday will also bring excitement and joy, as sophomores will be hosting our Lower School Field Day. This engaging afternoon outside will have students moving and connecting, under the leadership of our Upper School students. This is an event we all look forward to each year.

As the year starts to wrap up, I am reminded of all the blessings that we have had this year. I thank you for a wonderful year with your children, as it is a true honor to work with and support such an amazing community.

With gratitude,

Jessica Hallin
