A message from Director of Lower School, Jessica Hallin:
As we get closer to conferences, I wanted to remind you that today, Wednesday November 15 is the last day to sign up for conferences. Please be sure to sign up with both your child’s classroom teacher and their Specialists, as all have wonderful things to share regarding your child’s growth, learning and Visitation experiences. We look forward to our in-person conferences, as they truly are a gift in connecting with you and building a strong partnership in your child’s excellent education here at Visitation. Along those lines, please remember that we do have school on Monday November 21, with conferences following from 3:30 to 7 p.m. We are off from school on Tuesday November 22, as our conferences run from noon to 7 p.m. that day. We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving break with families and loved ones. There is no school November 22-24 in observation of the holiday.
We are eagerly awaiting Friday as we have our monthly out of uniform day, which is always a hit with the students. It also gives them the opportunity to connect and show empathy for others, with their generosity and donations on this day. Also on Friday we will be holding a special Convo for Lower School students to participate in World Kindness Day. At this special morning event, we will have an opportunity to come together as a Lower School community to again show love, kindness and compassion towards others. We cannot wait!
As a reminder, as of this week, Kayla Christy, Coordinator of Extended Day and Summer Programs is out on medical leave after a surgery. While Kayla is on leave, we ask that all families please stick to their established schedules. Kayla made all the requested adjustments prior to her leave, and we thank you in advance for sticking to those agreements. We will not have Drop In Days, especially over the holidays and Christmas. Thank you for supporting Kayla and our program while she is on leave. Please keep her in your prayers for rest and healing!
As we head into the Christmas season, I want to encourage you to stay up-to-date on our website and Lower School calendar, as there will be many exciting events headed our way. The Lower School Christmas Concert for grades K-5 is December 7 at 6 p.m., followed by the ever popular PA sponsored Advent Festival. The following week, on December 14,we look forward to our Montessori Christmas Party and singing which is always full of joy. These events, and more are coming soon! Please get ready for a festive holiday spirit here in the Lower School!
To keep the focus in November, and on gratitude, I want to thank our amazing Lower School faculty and staff. This has been a busy month, unfortunately full of illnesses, and our team has been working hard to support our community, families and students. They are also eagerly working to prepare for report cards and conferences. This Lower School team is truly the best and I am very lucky to have each of them on my team. I know you share in that gratitude towards our teachers and staff, and look forward to your connecting with them at conferences.
As always, I will thank you for sharing your amazing children with me each day. It is an honor.
