Meet Coach Kevin Block - Head Varsity Basketball Coach

A message from Director of Athletics, Elisa Ryan Manny:

I am pleased to announce Kevin Block as Visitation’s next Head Varsity Basketball Coach.

Coach Block has been a high school basketball coach for the last seven years. He spent the previous five years as the Head JV Coach and as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Minnehaha Academy, with his first two seasons at Concordia Academy where he initially partnered with Minnehaha’s former Head Girls Coach, Matt Pryor.  After moving to Minnehaha Academy with Coach Pryor, he helped advance Minnehaha to the State Tournament four out of the last five seasons, including a State Championship in 2018-19.

Over the past three summers, Coach Block expanded his skill set by coaching AAU for North Tartan. He grew up in Minnesota on the East Side of St. Paul and attended Concordia Academy-Roseville where he played basketball and baseball all four years.

Coach Block brings high energy and exuberance to coaching and provides an atmosphere of accountability and competitiveness. Most importantly, he is student-centered and committed to a strong culture that reflects Visitation’s core values.

Vis Summer basketball training program begins Monday, June 12 and will now run on Mondays and Thursdays in Commers Gym from 6 to 8 p.m., June 12 - July 27, with no training the week of July 3. Contact Ms. Manny or Coach Block to learn more.

We will have a meet and greet with Coach Block in June, and that information will be shared once a date is set. Please join me in giving Coach Block a warm welcome!  Go Blazers!
