Salesian Corner - Preparing for Advent

A message from the Salesian Studies Office:

As we draw near the end of November, the month of remembrance, thanksgiving and gratitude, we transition to a new liturgical year and season in the Catholic Church. Advent begins Sunday, December 1 and officially marks a new year in the Church’s calendar. The word Advent comes from the Latin, adventus, meaning “coming” or “arrival.”  During the season of Advent, we prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ.

Visitation School’s 2024 Advent theme is Prepare Our Heart. We will focus on God’s love for us, how we may offer our grateful heart to God and to all people. Throughout this time of waiting, may we ready ourselves for the gift of Christ and God’s eternal love for us.

“Keep near him, and make ready pure and clean hearts for him to dwell in at his coming into the world; for if you open to him, he will come in and abide with you.”
Saint Jane de Chantal from Her Exhortations, Conferences and Instructions
