As part of the Sed Vitae Speaker Series, Visitation School presents Non Scholae, Sed Domum: Not for School but for Home. Visitation is delighted to welcomes Fr. Joe Newman, OSFS  an expert in Salesian Spirituality, on October 26 to share strategies for parents and guardians to extend  Salesian Spirituality learnings from the classroom and into their homes and the real world. This event is FREE and open to all. Fr. Joe will share how the divine has reached him through his life, ministry and community. He will share the ways that Salesian Spirituality guides us to embrace the ordinary each day to grow in love of God, our self and others and how to bring that to life in our homes.

About Fr. Joe Newman: Fr. Joe Newman was educated and formed by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. He grew up as an altar server at a parish with an Oblate in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from an Oblate high school, St. Francis de Sales. He continue sto teach at the same school! He has worked as a teacher, coach, admissions director and vice president. In June 2023, he was elected the Provincial Superior for the Toledo-Detroit Province of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. Although he still teaches a few classes, his primary ministry is to the Province. Father Newman has a Bachelor of Science from DeSales University in Biology, Master’s of Divinity from the University of Toronto and Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Lourdes University.
