Upper School Director's Notes

A Message From Upper School Director, Dr. Anna Barter:

Dear Upper School Families,

As the students sit for their final exams, I sense the transition that will soon take place. Our students will complete the academic year and look forward to a different rhythm that accompanies summer. It is my hope that the girls can rest and recharge. They have worked hard and have earned the opportunity to take a breath. Please know that Visitation’s faculty and staff are proud of each and every one of the girls.

We are eagerly anticipating the Class of 2022 graduation ceremony that will take place this Sunday, June 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Cathedral. Please note that the graduates should arrive on the front steps no later than 1:15 p.m. and that doors to the Cathedral will open to family and friends at 2:00 p.m. We will hand out priority seating tickets to each graduate at the rehearsal that takes place this Friday, June 3 at 10 a.m. in Commers Gymnasium. Please note that we can only distribute the tickets once each graduate completes end-of-the-year items such as submitting their laptops to the technology office and returning checked-out items to the library. I look forward to celebrating with all of you on this special day.

Please know that I go into the summer feeling grateful for your daughters and the entire Visitation community. Just yesterday, our school came together to celebrate the Feast of the Visitation, the moment that Mary and Elizabeth came together at a critical juncture in their lives. It is in such a moment that we remember the importance of supporting one another in big and small ways. To that end, please know that my door is open to you if and when needed.

Thank you for the wonderful year. I wish you all many blessings!

Sincerely,

Anna Bachman Barter, PhD
Director of Upper School
