On Friday, April 4, Middle and Upper School students will take part in Women’s Day 2025, a dynamic, conference-style event designed to inspire and empower. This year’s theme, Poised to Lead, encourages students to explore leadership, career paths, and the many ways women make an impact in their fields and communities.
The day begins with a keynote from Mallory Weggemann, a four-time Team USA Paralympic swimmer and author. Fresh from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where she won both gold and silver in swimming, Mallory will share her powerful story of resilience and leadership.
Following the keynote, students will engage in a conference-style experience, choosing from nearly 30 breakout sessions led by accomplished female leaders, including Visitation alumnae and professionals from organizations such as Best Buy, Arthur Ventures, General Mills, Gillette Children’s Hospital and Simeks. Presenters include CEOs, surgeons, attorneys, architects, and founders, offering hands-on insights into their careers and leadership journeys.
Throughout the day, students will explore questions such as:
- How did you get where you are?
- What do you love about what you do?
- How has creativity shaped your career?
- What has prepared you to be Poised to Lead?
- What challenges have you faced, and how have you overcome them?
- What advice would you give your younger self?
Women’s Day is a unique opportunity for Visitation students to step beyond the classroom and learn from real-world leaders who exemplify courage, curiosity and strength. We look forward to an inspiring and impactful day!
