A message from the Director of Athletics & Competitive Activities:

I am pleased to announce Sam Lackmann as the Head Varsity Coach of

our Hockey program. Before accepting this post at Visitation, Coach Lackmann worked with several competitive programs across Minnesota, including the Minnesota Ice Cougars (U8–U19), the Premier Prep League (PPL) and the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association’s Senior Classic All-Star Series. Most recently, she was part of the Lakeville South girls’ hockey staff, where she helped guide the JV team to a 20-2-2 record in 2024–25. In addition to coaching in competitive team formats, she has also provided skills instruction through clinics and development programs for youth and high school athletes.

In her competitive playing career, Coach Lackmann was a four-year defenseman at St. Catherine’s University, appearing in 66 career games and totaling 14 points on 4 goals and 10 assists, with her first collegiate goal as the game-winner against Bethel University.

Off the ice, she was recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as a Krampade All-American Scholar, served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and participated in The Hidden Opponent, an organization dedicated to student-athlete mental health awareness.

Lackmann earned both her Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management and Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies(Cum Laude) from St. Catherine’s University, where she also minored in Leadership, Integrated Marketing Communications and Design. She is SafeSport certified, a USA Hockey CEP Level 1 coach, and is passionate about creating a positive and competitive environment for the student-athletes at Visitation.

Join me in welcoming Coach Lackmann to the Visitation Hockey family! More information about a meet and greet date after the MEA weekend and details about the staff are forthcoming.
