Winter Warmth Collection

A message from Kathleen Daniewicz, Director of Campus Ministry:

It WILL get cold outside! Please help to keep others warm.

Our winter warmth collection this year focuses on providing winter accessories for those who have none. We will only be collecting new hats, mittens/gloves, and warm socks for people of all ages.

All of the items we collect will be given to the Visitation Sisters in Minneapolis, to be distributed to those who will soon be knocking at the door of their monastery in need of help as cold weather draws near. The Sisters continue to see an increase of un-housed individuals and families in their neighborhood, with more and more people looking for help with the most basic needs.

Vis students will be distributing hats and mittens with treats on Halloween and again at Thanksgiving. New adults and children will continue to arrive throughout the winter, so the sisters also like to have resources on hand to help those who come to their door.

We are hoping to have a significant number of items - especially for children - to distribute on Halloween, but will continue to collect throughout the winter, as the need will continue. Please help to provide the wonderful gift of warmth for our neighbors in need across the river.

There will be a marked collection box near the stairs in the Heart. Thank you in advance and please give generously!
