STEAM Day for Girls
STEAM DAY is November 2!
STEAM Day for Girls will take place at Visitation School on November 2, 2024 for girls in grades 3-5, from any Twin Cities area school, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Visitation School has long prided itself on maintaining the balance between educating the mind and feeding the soul, so it is in that great tradition that STEAM Day for Girls will venture to expose participants to the creativity and possibilities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Professionals in STEAM fields will lead hands-on workshops to give small groups of girls a sense of each respective profession.
Since 2009, this day of hands-on workshops, exciting speakers and visits with professionals in a variety of STEAM fields has provided Twin Cities area girls who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math an opportunity to aspire, imagine, explore and discover STEAM.
Sessions will be led by Visitation School expert faculty as well as community partners such as the University of Minnesota.
2024 workshops include:
- Candy Chromatography
- Stop Motion Animation
- Pendulum Painting
- Everything is Numbers!
- Sensory Science
- Light and Kaleidoscopes
- Ready, Set, Charge! with The Robettes, Visitation School's all-girls robotics team
- CSI: To Catch a Thief
- And more!
Register will open soon!

Do you have a talent or passion that you would be willing to share?
STEAM Day would not be possible without our presenters' tremendous talent and generosity! You do not have to be working in STEAM specifically to be involved. Coordinators are happy to help develop ideas and will procure needed equipment and cover the cost of any consumable materials required. Workshops are 45 minutes each and are limited to 10 girls per session. Complete this form.
