Six Visitation Seniors Recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program

Senior Kate Heinsch

Congratulations to Kate Heinsch who has been named a National Merit Semifinalist, putting her in the top 16,000 of those entered nationally, and qualifying her to move on in the competition. As a Semifinalist, Kate represents the highest scoring entrants in the state and less than 1% of each state's high school seniors. Finalists will be named in February.

Erika Kyba, Katherine Norman, Cady Pagel and Jaclyn Young have all been named as Commended Students, putting them in the top 50,000 of the entrants.

Ashley Okafor is one of 32,000 students across the country to be commended through the National African American Recognition Program because of her high performance on the PSAT exam.

Juniors entered the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $30 million that will be offered next spring.

Congratulations to our semifinalist and commended students!
