View From Vis: Five Questions With Ninth-Grader Grace
Meet Grace! She's a ninth-grade student ambassador featured in the visit video on our website. Let's get to know her a little better!
Why did you choose Visitation?
I chose Visitation because I was looking for a place to continue to grow in my faith, academics, and character. After shadowing three different schools, I felt that Vis was the best fit because of the welcoming environment and community that I found when I shadowed.
What activities do you plan to participate in at Visitation?
I am excited to join our State Championship Swim and Dive Team, and I also plan to participate in Mock Trial, Service Club, and Women's ActiVISts.
If prospective students were touring Visitation with you in person, what would you be most excited to show them?
I would be most excited to share the flex/downtime that we have during the day. I think that the schedule, which allows for a flex time in the middle of the day (under normal circumstances), is a great opportunity to show prospective students what a major role relationships have on a student's experience at Visitation. Not only are the friendships made here wonderful, but there is a great student-teacher connection at this school. It is the relationships that are formed, the laughs that are shared, and the memories that are made in the small moments of the day that make Vis special.
What advice do you have for students who are deciding which high school to attend?
My advice is to choose a school that is the best fit for you. It can be easy to go where your friends are going or where your parents went, but I think you will be best off if you are able to focus on finding the right fit for you. There are so many great schools, and everyone deserves to find the best place for them to learn, as well as grow into the person they are destined to be.
