Earlier this month, eighth graders came together at their class retreat. The theme of the retreat was, "Be who you are and be that well."

The retreat began with a Mass celebrated by Fr. Nick Hagen. His homily touched on the following points:

  • God wants us all to share in each other's accomplishments.
  • Unity is where envy is washed away.
  • We should start each day by listening and saying yes to God to find our inner peace.
  • God wants to touch each and every one of our hearts at the very heart of who we are.

With their Senior leaders, the eighth graders discussed how to be their best selves and the importance of building self-esteem and self-confidence. They celebrated their class' best attributes and did affirmations with an art activity focusing on the heart.
