March 12, 2020
Today, we have had discussions with the Minnesota Department of Health, Dakota County Public Health and Saint Thomas Academy regarding the parent who has tested positive for COVID-19. Based on our discussions and as reported by Saint Thomas Academy, we have been told that our students and our greater community are at very low risk of contracting the virus.
In collaboration with STA, last night's decision to close school was made out of extreme caution to protect our community and to take a pause until we received further guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health.
We have been thoroughly cleaning our building for several weeks in our effort to prevent the spread of illness. We are again exercising an abundance of caution and will be deep cleaning according to the CDC's guidelines Thursday and Friday.
There will be no access to the building today, March 12. We know many of you would like to retrieve items before spring break. Due to the specific needs of our childcare center and extended day programs, we may not be able to open the building tomorrow. We are working to open the building as soon as possible. Please check our website for updates.
All school activities for March 12 and 13 are cancelled. There will be no distance learning today or tomorrow.
This is an evolving situation and we continue to be in conversations with the MDH and the Dakota County Public Health.

During these complicated times we are asked to be strong in loving each other and trusting in God. Let us follow the example modeled by our Visitation Sisters and hold each other and those affected in prayer.
Sincerely, Rene Gavic Head of School
