Team Mutomo

Since 2011, Visitation’s Team Mutomo has annually sent a group of Upper School students to Africa for an immersive educational experience that helps students learn about other cultures and make a positive impact on our global community.

In June, Team Mutomo will once again travel to Zambia. There, students and adult mentors will work alongside the Dominican Sisters of Ndola Province, who labor to alleviate poverty and provide hope through a network of schools, orphanages, and medical and dental clinics.

Every year, our Visitation students are transformed by this experience. They return to the United States with a new understanding of the problems that face people in developing nations. Some young people even take this new learning to college, pursuing fields they learned about on this trip. All program alumnae develop a deeper appreciation for what is needed to help the poor and vulnerable.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible financial contribution to the work of Team Mutomo, please click here. A significant portion of the money raised through this online donation will be given to the Dominican Sisters to pay for needed medical and educational supplies; another portion will be used to offset the substantial costs of the trip, which exceed $4,000 per student.
