Salesian Corner
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

A message from Director of Salesian Studies Anne Williams:

October 16 is the Feast of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a Visitation sister. She was instrumental in promulgating the spread of a worldwide devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the mid-1600s, she began to receive revelations during her prayer. In these visions of Jesus, He asked her to share the message of His heart, one burning with a deep love for His people.

At school on the Feast day, we celebrate with M&Ms. Also, we can pray to ask her intercession for a more open heart, one ready to receive the grace God sends.

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I adore You, I praise You, I bless You.
I love You with all the strength
And all the love in my heart.
But make my heart bigger and increase my love
So that I may love You more.
This is the grace I ask of You,
O Sacred Heart,
For all the hearts that can love You.
