Upper School Director's Notes

A Message from Upper School Director Anna Barter:

Dear Visitation Families,

Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate Vistance Learning together. I have appreciated hearing from you as well as working with faculty and students to create engaging learning experiences for students. In an effort to continue our progress, I invite you to fill out the following survey so that we can best support, develop, and improve our work with our students.

One of the highlights that has emerged since the outset of Vistance Learning is the inclusion of Sed Vitae classes during our B-Block programming. Responding to our students' request to participate in classes that will serve them well as they spend time at home, members of the Visitation community have submitted "mini classes" that include options such as Yoga with Ms. Feitl, Making Popovers with Mr. Horttor, and How to Change A Tire with Addie Cooper. I also encourage you to check out the Upper School section of our webpage to view any and all of our daily announcements, including daily prayer, Lenten reflections, and fun(ny) videos. Have you seen Mr. Dornbach's TikTok video?

The Visitation community continues to support one another in and outside of the classroom: Students build one another up by sending positive messages to one another via e-mail and SnapChat. Faculty come together via text and GoogleHangout to share what's working in their virtual classrooms. The Campus Ministry Office continues to create service opportunities that are particularly apt for this time in the world and our Counseling Team offers opportunities for students to meet in a 1:1 setting as well for parents to gather on a weekly basis. Check out the details for this Thursday's gathering with Dr. Jules Nolan here.

Thank you for continued partnership. I speak for everyone in the Upper School when I say, "We miss you!" Please continue to reach out to me with questions or concerns.
